PLP PROVIDES FREEDOM TO COMBINE OCÉ 9800 SCANNER WITH NON-OCÉ PRINTERS

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – May 26, 2004 – PLP Digital Systems, the leading digital reprographics solutions provider, today announced the July 2004 availability of the 9800 Stand Alone Scanner Kit. The kit accommodates any workflow environment including PlotWorks®, Repro Desk and PowerPrint.

For reprographers and print-for-use organizations that prefer the Océ 9800 scanner over competing devices, the 9800 Stand Alone Scanner Kit allows operation of the Océ 9800 scanner independent of the Océ 9800 printer. Unlike the manufacturer's configuration, the 9800 Stand Alone Scanner Kit provides unprecedented freedom to combine the market-leading scanner with a variety of print engines.

Owners will realize the following benefits:

  • Increased Return on Assets – Configure reprographics operations with optimum equipment to achieve a better yield from existing equipment.
  • Streamline Workflow – Scan and print concurrently without interruption by separating the Océ 9800 scanner from the Océ 9800 printer.
  • Improved Customer Service – Immediately fulfill walk-in copy jobs while printing a large job, or fulfill walk-in print jobs in the middle of a large scanning job.
  • Reduced Risk – Eliminate single points of failure that make the scanner inoperable while the printer is down or serviced.
